Precision Casting
Precision casting is a manufacturing technology used to create complex-shaped, high-precision and high-quality parts. The following are the main steps of the investment casting process.
Mold design:
Design a suitable mold according to the geometric shape and size requirements of the part. Molds are usually made of metal materials to ensure sufficient strength and wear resistance.
Mold manufacturing:
According to the mold design drawings, a complete mold is manufactured through processes such as CNC processing, assembly and debugging. The mold manufacturing process requires special attention to dimensional accuracy and surface smoothness.
Material preparation:
Select appropriate materials, usually metal alloys with good fluidity and heat resistance. According to the requirements of the parts, processes such as batching, metering and mixing are carried out to obtain suitable casting materials.
Casting preparation:
Apply a layer of release agent inside the mold to prevent the casting from adhering to the mold. At the same time, devices such as fences and cooling systems are set up in the mold as needed to control the quality and shape of the castings.
Casting process:
Melt the casting material to the appropriate temperature, and then pour it into the pre-prepared mold. During the casting process, attention needs to be paid to controlling the cooling rate and pressure of the casting to ensure the uniformity and density of the casting.
Open the mold:
After the casting has cooled and solidified, open the mold and take out the casting. Follow-up treatments such as deburring, trimming and cleaning may be required as needed.
Finishing:
further processing and precision machining of castings. This may include processes such as milling, cutting, polishing and inspection to meet the accuracy and surface quality requirements of the part.
Inspection and correction:
Through inspection, check whether the size, appearance and performance of the casting meet the requirements. If there is a problem, it needs to be corrected or scrapped.
Surface treatment:
As needed, surface treatment is performed on the castings, such as spraying, chrome plating or painting, etc., to improve appearance and corrosion resistance.
Packaging and shipping:
The castings are packaged and marked, and then sent to the warehouse or customer to complete the entire precision casting process.
