Hot Working

  • The temperature range of 1200 ℃ ~ 950 ℃, the cooling way of water quenching or air cooling rapidly.
  • Inorder to obtain the best performance and creep resistance, solid solution treatment should be carried out after hot processing.
  • Material can be directly into of the oven temperature to 1200 ℃, immediately after the insulation enough time, in the specified temperature range for hot working.When the material temperature drops below the hot working temperature, it needs to be reheated.

Cold Working

(1) The processing hardening rate is higher than that of austenitic stainless steel, so it is necessary to select the processing equipment.The cold working material should be in the state of solid solution heat treatment, and the intermediate annealing should be carried out when the cold working quantity is large.

(2) If the cold processing amount is more than 10%, the workpiece needs to be processed by the secondary solid solution.

Incoloy800HT (N08811) is a full austenitic low-carbon nickel-iron-chromium alloy, which has the same series as Incoloy800. The cobalt content in this alloy can be strictly controlled below 0.01%.Incoloy800HT(N08811) is resistant to many corrosive media.Its high nickel content makes it have good resistance to stress corrosion cracking under water corrosion conditions.High chromium content makes it have better resistance to spot corrosion and crack corrosion.This alloy has good corrosion resistance to nitric acid and organic acid, but limited corrosion resistance in sulfuric acid and hydrochloric acid.

Incoloy800HT (N08811) Alloy Heating

  • The workpiece shall be kept clean before and during the heat treatment.

(2) Do not contact with sulfur, phosphorus, lead and other low-melting metals during the heat treatment process, otherwise it will damage the properties of materials. Attention should be paid to remove such dirt as marking paint, temperature indicating paint, colored crayons, lubricating oil and fuel.

(3) The lower the sulfur content in the fuel, the better. The sulfur content in natural gas should be less than 0.1%, and the sulfur content in heavy oil should be less than 0.5%.

(4) Considering the need of temperature control and cleaning, it is better to conduct heat treatment in a vacuum furnace or a gas protection furnace.

(5) It can also be heated in a box-type furnace or gas furnace, but the furnace gas must be clean and neutral to micro oxidation, should avoid the fluctuation of furnace gas between oxidation and reduction, the heating flame cannot directly burn to the workpiece.

Incoloy800HT (N08811) Alloy Hot Working

(1) Incoloy 800 ht hot working temperature range of 1200 ℃ ~ 900 ℃, the cooling way of water quenching or rapid cooling as far as possible between 760 ℃ ~ 540 ℃.Hot bending should be between 1150 ℃ to 1000 ℃.

(2) In order to obtain the best corrosion resistance and creep resistance, annealing should be carried out after hot processing.

(3) Material can be directly into of the oven temperature to 1200 ℃, holding time for each 100 mm thickness of material insulation 60 minutes.Keep enough time to quickly out of the oven, hot processing in the specified temperature range.When the material temperature drops below the hot working temperature, it needs to be reheated.

Cold Working of Incoloy800HT (N08811) Alloy

(1) Incoloy y 800HT has a processing hardening rate greater than that of austenitic stainless steel, so it is necessary to select processing equipment.Cold working materials should be annealed and heat treated, and intermediate annealing should be carried out during cold working.

(2) If the cold processing amount is more than 10%, the workpiece shall be softened and annealed before use.

Incoloy800HT (N08811) alloy heat treatment

(1) Incoloy 800 ht softening annealing treatment temperature range is 920 ℃ ~ 980 ℃, the best processing temperature is 950 ℃.

(2) In order to obtain the best corrosion resistance, water quenching is adopted for cooling, and rapid air cooling is also adopted for materials with thickness less than 1.5mm.

(3) In the heat treatment process, it shall be operated in accordance with the foregoing matters that must be kept clean during the heating process.

Incoloy800HT (N08811) Alloy Scale Removal and Pickling

(1) The surface oxide of Incoloy 800HT and the welding slag around the weld have stronger adhesion than stainless steel. It can be used by both mechanical and chemical methods. When choosing mechanical methods, it should avoid metal pollution or surface deformation.

(2) Tthe oxide film must be carefully polished or pre-treated with salt bath before acid pickling with HNO3/HF mixed acid.

Incoloy800HT (N08811) Alloy Machining

Incoloy 800HT shall be machined after annealing and heat treatment. Since the material is processed and hardened, it should be processed with a lower cutting speed and heavy feed than that of low-alloy standard austenitic stainless steel, so as to enter the surface layer of cold hardening.
