Description of AWS 308-16 Coated Electrodes:
AWS 308-16 Coated Electrode is a low carbon electrode for welding type 304L, 321, and 347 stainless steel. The controlled ferrite element in these weld coats gives excellent notch toughness at cryogenic temperatures. This electrode deposits a max carbon element in the weld metal to minimize the formation of chromium carbides and consequent susceptibility to resist intergranular corrosion. It is an excellent coated electrode for welding various alloys.
